Martin Kerr

Martin Kerr is performing at Carlson's on macleod on December 23, 24 2007"Took us all by storm", said the BBC, introducing Martin Kerr to 40 million listeners worldwide, when aged just 13.

A decade later, his brand new album, "I Know You're Out There" is garnering airplay and critical acclaim around the world.  It recently won him the accolade of "Best Provincial Pop Album 2007" from Toronto Exclusive Magazine.  The album's first single - Undiscovered Geniuses - was also nominated for "Best Provincial Pop Song".

Newspaper reviewers may have noted that, "this british singer-songwriter's music immediately evokes flashbacks to the days of peace, love, and protest songs..." yet the disc and his live performances are peppered with his sardonic sense of humor, for example:
"This one's for the Undiscovered Geniuses, or is it genii?  I never knew...".
Kerr explains of his lead single:  "When I was traveling round the world, I found that there were so many incredible people with great talents going completely unnoticed.  I developed this bizarre ambition to write world-famous song that discredits the whole idea of stardom. "
"I'm hoping it'll get played in supermarkets, and prompt people to talk to each other in the queue, rather than gawking at those awful magazine racks..."
He has already visited 30 countries, including 3 years living in China, where he learned to speak Mandarin, worked as a preschool teacher and recorded 3 albums of songs for children.

David Celia

Dave Celia live at Carlson's on MacLeod - December 7, 2007Introducing David Celia, based out of Toronto, Canada - a world class musician who has played for audiences all over the U.K., U.S.A. and Canada.
With regards to his musical style, it has been described as "roots-rock with hints of folk wrapped up in a pop package".
Flawless 3 and 4 part harmonies are usually the first thing that audiences are drawn to in the live set but ultimately it's the songwriting that gives the music a timeless feel.
David has received radio play on CBC Radio in Canada as well as on the BBC in the UK, featured on Radio2's highly regarded Bob Harris Show.
David earned kudos from EMI Parlophone artists The Divine Comedy when they asked him to open up for them in Toronto and more recently in England.
